probably right mate, but mourinho doesn't seem to often like bringing in young players, doesn't seem to trust them, and he needs quick results at man utd so i can imagine him only using experienced first teamers this season. wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few of their youngsters that played last season to go out on loan.

Re: Antonio
When we play our first game against Chelsea he will only be up against Hazard, so I have no worries in the slightest.

Re: Antonio
Fwiw, I don't beleive that Mail story. Firstly, Mourinho is under the microscope ref not giving young players a chance, he's already had to defend himself in that respect in his first pressy theRe, so I really can't see him feeding that theory by farming out 2 of their best young prospects straight off the bat. Secondly, I would have thought he would be looking at playing the fringe/young players in the EL.

Cheers B

To be honest I'm more inclined to believe the sun version that Fosu-Mensah has been offered a new deal, and Borthwick-Jackson is being let go. He's very good imho

Do we feel sorry for Sam BYRAM too? Or just Antonio?

Re: Antonio

article in the mail today says that he and borthwick aren't in mourinho's plans and could be let go, at least on loan.

Re: Antonio
Fuck me is this shit still going on with idiots still trying to deflect & ignore the fucking obvious that he's no right back & never ever will be & we have a right back playing as left back as the one LB we have has got injured.

OM , seriously, shouldn't you fuck off back on the stadium thread worrying your head with Johnson's about what fabric is going up & or whether Tescos or Ann Summers are sponsoring it.

Clearly football related threads are your forte matey.

Not sure why people think the mancs are letting Fosu-Mensah go??

Re: Antonio
He is a very good right sided attacker and a rookie full back.
He is excellent in one position and out of his depth in the other.
I feel sorry for him because he is doing his best for his manager and the team .... and you know SOME footballers would be spitting the dummy about being played out of position.
Sort it out Slav
Byram is a right back , buy another one and we are sorted.
The young guy at Man Utd ... Fosu-Mensah ... who Jose doesn't want would fit the bill.

Private Dancer 8:56 Fri Jul 29
Re: Antonio
You fancy that this may have come to a head last night. As was discussed on here a few days he simply doesn't have the positional sense to play there, simple as that. In addition his head will be fucked now as he will be wondering if he can get his slot back on the wing now he has seen Feghouli starting well and with Tore coming in. Would be a real shame if he doesn't built on his great first season.

Re: Antonio
I'm sure Antonio will come good again but agree he is not a RB
In the meantime though, there is a lot of urgent sorting out to do with our defence

When Collins & Ogbonna are back in contention we should be ok for CH 's (with Oxford & Burke waiting in the wings)

Byram needs to be at RB & we need to get a LB to cover for Creswell (either the Leeds lad or the Walsall lad)

Antonio might be OK at RB as an emergency but never as 1st choice. It's hard to see where he's going to fit in now in a RW position with Tore & Fenghouli (who was very impressive last night) also competing for that position

JONESY 8:42 Fri Jul 29
Re: Antonio
he is just not a right back and should NEVER EVER be played there. it will cost us goals every week in the prem.

I like the lad very much and think he does a great job as an attacking right sided player, so either play him there or not at all.

we're talking about one of the most competitive leagues in the world, full of world class specialist players. it is not the place to be playing anyone out of position just so he can make the team sheet. that player will get found out and get punished.

"I'm not a body language expert but he seemed pissed off."

And so he should have been. He was absolutely diabolical. Still he missed out in the states I think so it's still very much prefer season for him and quite a few others.

To be honest I wish these games and pre season games weren't on TV.

Re: Antonio
Sold - Behave yourself. We clearly have an issue with the RB spot and people are just saying as much. If you can't discuss that on here then what really is the point of having this forum.

The Byram thing confuses me, is he our man at RB or not? Nobody seems to have a scooby.

out of position to who??

Re: Antonio
It's all very well saying he's not a natural full back, but he offered nothing going forward either except for his long throws. He needs to remember that he needs to keep his position.

He will know ths. He had a bad game, end of. He is a fantasic professional and needs to get back nis fitness and sharpness. I am sure he will but in this game he needed to be more discilined.

Hermit Road 12:44 Fri Jul 29
Re: Antonio
Nobody here puts him on a pedestal. Even his most ardent fans accept he has limitations, which is exactly why he shouldn't be played out of position in an area of the pitch where mistakes lead to goals conceded.
